Absolutely lovely. Is a ticket to the past, to those old cinemas with that charming retro sensation. Just one movie at a time, the popcorn are not the best but anyway the place is lovely, like a trip to the past.

The Joy is great! I don't know why I always forget about it. I hope they keep running kid/ family-friendly films. Consessions don't cost an over inflated price, which means I can actually get my kids popcorn and sodas. They love it at the Joy. They even have little booster seats available for the smaller kids. 📽 🍿 🥤 The 2pm matinee is the perfect time of day for my family. I hope they always offer it.

Nostalgic, cute, and clean! The staff were so nice and the auditorium inside is huge! Seats are super comfy and everything was very clean. I loved the old vintage ads at the beginning, it was a lot of fun to see. The screen was clear and sound quality was great. Prices for popcorn and drinks are much better than most chain theatres and we thought the popcorn was better, it was fresh and salted perfectly.

Pretty nice. It's not the fancy new remodeled ones, but the seats are nice and comfortable. I was told it has 300 seats. Good prices!!!! You can order pizza, nachos, popcorn, beer, cider etc...

This sweet little theater is an amazing place to enjoy a vintage movie experience- the reels of old drive-in movie advertisements before the show, extremely reasonable ticket prices, buttery popcorn and kitsch movie posters in the restrooms I feel transported to my childhood. They also play seasonally appropriate old movies. Apparently, you can also have your wedding here as well.

I love this place. Do not expect a fancy, modern venue. In fact, it's like taking a trip back to the early 1900s. It has the obligatory marquee. The lobby and restrooms are filled with movie posters from that era. The snack bar is adequate and includes items like pizza, beers, wines, soft drinks, $2-$3 candy, popcorn, hotdogs etc. Ticket prices are more than competitive. Watch for specials either on their marquee or website. Normally I go nights when tickets are only$3/show and attend both features. Years ago, they couldn't afford maintenance and one would find areas of seats roped off needing repair, a ceiling that leaked, seats that almost made you slide on the floor. It was generally in disrepair. Now, while obviously operating on a shoestring, most of the above is not the case. The people at the snack bar are very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure but would guess it's family owned. For the price it's a great deal and makes for an enjoyable evening.

Improved seats are so much better, prices are reasonable, and classic theater concessions. My only thing I didn’t like was how the line was to get in. No line flow inside, just had everyone lined up outside the door on a small sidewalk where they’re doing construction while you wait for them to do ticket and concession sales in the same transaction 1 person at a time -which can take some time and feels longer when the weather is less than ideal. Just don’t go for a popular new movie and you should have a nice experience!

I've lived in tigard for 12 years. I finally went to joy cinima for I wanted to see the new wonka movie. We buy our tickets and move on into the theater. All to ourselves. Just my girlfriend and I. All alone. Still had 10 mins left before the movie so I took a quick 420 break out at my car. I return to my seat . Again it's just my girlfriend and myself. 5 mins into the movie. I've got a flashlight in my face being accused of smoking weed in the building. He could smell it. I assured him I was in my car when I smoked. He continued to lecture me then finally went away. During his lecture he mentioned that the cinéma was a bar. He tells us they serve alcohol. So 5 mins later my girlfriend wanted a wine so she goes to order wine. He refused to serve her cus he said I was to high.. needless to say I still have not seen the wonka movie. It took everything I had Within me not to let the guy know what time it is. I had to promise my gf I wouldn't let him know how I felt about the situation. Again we were the only people in the entire theater. I'm still trying to make up my mind to get my money back. The people at dollar tree told us he buys his candy from them then puts triple high price tag on it to sell. It is no wonder the place was empty.
